Description

This women's tee is made from 6.1 oz 100% ring-spun US cotton in a boxy, slightly cropped mid-length cut. It features a topstitched ribbed collar, shoulder-to-shoulder twill tape, a seamless body, and a double-needle bottom hem. Dyed with OEKO-TEX certified low-impact dyes in a WRAP-certified facility, using a salt-free clean pigment process that uses about half the water of conventional pigment dyeing. Boxy fit, sizes S–2XL — it runs close to the body, so size up for a looser drape. Slight shade variation between garments is normal.

Meet air yam

Dioscorea bulbifera L.

Air yam carries one of its most conspicuous structures above ground: rounded bulbils tucked where leaves meet the stem. These vegetative propagules can produce new vines after falling, helping explain how the plant spreads without relying entirely on seeds. Beneath the foliage, the perennial vine may also form underground storage organs. University of Florida: Dioscorea bulbiferaUF/IFAS: Invasive Plants in Natural Areas, Air Potato

Seasonal development

Florida, United States

In Florida, plants become dormant during the short days of winter; surviving bulbils can generate new growth. UF/IFAS: Invasive Plants in Natural Areas, Air Potato

Native range

Kew describes a native range across tropical and subtropical parts of the Old World to Australia. Florida populations are introduced. There, air yam occupies disturbed woodland, floodplains, thickets and urban landscapes, and can also enter undisturbed habitats.
