Description

This women's tee is made from 6.1 oz 100% ring-spun US cotton in a boxy, slightly cropped mid-length cut. It features a topstitched ribbed collar, shoulder-to-shoulder twill tape, a seamless body, and a double-needle bottom hem. Dyed with OEKO-TEX certified low-impact dyes in a WRAP-certified facility, using a salt-free clean pigment process that uses about half the water of conventional pigment dyeing. Boxy fit, sizes S–2XL — it runs close to the body, so size up for a looser drape. Slight shade variation between garments is normal.

Meet cutthroat grass

Coleataenia abscissa (Swallen) LeBlond

Cutthroat grass can form the dominant ground layer in Florida wet flatwoods, prairies and seepage areas. Its grasslands depend on both water movement and fire: growing-season burns encourage flowering and reduce competition from woody plants, while disturbances upslope can alter the seepage it needs. Seasonal development

Florida, United States

USDA reports that most new foliage develops in March, April and May. Seedheads emerge in June, followed by seed ripening in late July and early August. USDA NRCS: Cutthroat Grass Plant Fact Sheet

Native range

This species is native only to central and south-central Florida. Kew treats it as a perennial of the subtropical biome, placing its restricted distribution entirely within that state. Kew Plants of the World Online: Coleataenia abscissa

Ecological relationships

Deer graze cutthroat grass during spring, and cattle feed on it throughout the year. USDA NRCS: Cutthroat Grass Plant Fact Sheet
